About Us
Friends of Tulare Animal Services works directly with Tulare Animal Services located at 3817 South K Street, the facility houses the homeless animals from the city of Tulare. The primary purpose of the Friends of TAS is to reduce the intake of shelter animals through pet education and sterilization with an end goal of reducing the need of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation and lessening the burden of government. Our objective is to increase the positive interaction between pet owners and the shelter to encourage sterilization of unaltered pets. Collaboration between rescue organizations and the shelter is key to finding homes for unclaimed adoptable pets.
Happy Endings
Our Story
At Friends of Tulare Animal Shelter, our mission is simple: to give every animal a second chance at life. Founded in 2013, our journey began with a group of dedicated animal lovers who were determined to make a difference for homeless and abandoned pets in our community. What started as a small rescue operation has grown into a full-scale operation, rescuing hundreds of animals each year.
Over the years, we've witnessed heartwarming transformations—from pets that arrive malnourished or scared, to their eventual journeys home with loving families. Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers works tirelessly to provide these animals with the care, medical treatment, and love they deserve.
Beyond just rescue, we focus on education, spaying/neutering programs, and community outreach. We believe in helping pet owners keep their animals healthy and in preventing the overpopulation of homeless animals. Every pet that comes through our doors receives personalized attention, from vet visits to socialization, making sure they're ready to find their furever home.
We're proud of our partnerships with rescues, community organizations, and generous donors, who all play a role in helping us achieve our goal. Whether it’s reuniting lost pets with their families, transporting dogs to rescue partners across the Western United States, or providing safe havens for long-term residents waiting for the right family, we're committed to making a positive impact.
Each year brings new challenges, but with the support of our community, we continue to provide a safe, loving environment for every animal in need.
